Dr Jawaad Malik is a consultant pain medicine specialist and expert witness providing independent, court-compliant pain evidence through Pain Expert.
Dr Jawaad Malik is a knowledgeable, highly trained professional in Regional anaesthesia and Pain management. He joined Pain Expert Ltd in 2023.
Dr Malik is experienced in the medical and multidisciplinary management of a wide range of chronic pain conditions listed in the ICD-11, including chronic primary pain, chronic secondary musculoskeletal pain, post-traumatic pain syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, chronic neuropathic pain, chronic post-surgical pain, and more.
Dr Malik obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Surgery and Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He completed his training in renowned teaching hospitals such as The Royal Marsden and The Royal Free, as well as The Royal London, UCL, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Charing Cross, Hammersmith, and St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. He was awarded FRCA, FFPMRCA from the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and the European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA) in Greece. Additionally, he holds an Executive MBA, further establishing him as a knowledgeable and highly trained professional in Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Management.
He trained in advanced pain techniques at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is a Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist (CIPS), accredited by the World Institute of Pain. This certification places him among an exclusive group of the world’s leading Interventional Pain Physicians, committed to promoting best practices in pain management.
Dr Malik is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management since August 2022. In his current role at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust, he conducts four outpatient pain clinics and perform four procedure lists each month. He works within a multidisciplinary pain service that includes nurse specialists, pain psychologists and specialist pain physiotherapists. Additionally, he participates in a monthly multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated patient care. He also holds the position of Lead for Regional Anaesthesia within the Trust.
