Dr Sabina Bachtold is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia with broad NHS practice across the full spectrum of adult pain medicine in a non-filtered district general hospital setting. She combines true multidisciplinary working with specialist expertise in cancer pain and formal medicolegal training, including the Diploma of Legal Medicine with Distinction.
Dr Sabina Bachtold has been practising Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine as a Consultant in Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust since March 2020. She completed her Advanced Pain Medicine training in 2018 at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital. This was complemented by a six-month post- CCT Fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital.
Dr Bachtold is well accustomed to managing complex clinical circumstances through a multidisciplinary pain team clinic with regular clinical work with specialist psychologists and physiotherapists.
She continues to have a wide portfolio clinical career with practice in Vascular, Obstetric and Emergency Anaesthesia, as well as practising Pain Medicine in both outpatient and inpatient setting. She is significantly involved in the teaching programme of anaesthetic trainees as well as the delivery of Pain Medicine training for junior doctors of other specialities. Dr Bachtold has been an examiner for the European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care since 2022.
Dr Bachtold joined Pain Expert in 2024, and is available to take on claimant, defendant and joint instruction in chronic pain cases.
